Kydex Rings

Kydex® rings are used to correct miscut or oversized holes in ceiling material and as a backing material behind sprinkler canopies. When ceiling tile is being replaced, the size hole that has been cut in the ceiling material to accommodate the sprinkler and escutcheon is often larger than the original sprinkler canopy. Use of the Kydex® ring provides coverage of the oversized hole. Use of the Kydex® ring also allows replacement of ceiling tile without the removal of most types of sprinkler canopies. This means the sprinkler system stays “online” during ceiling tile replacement or repair.
